UP Man Arranges Wife’s Marriage to Her Lover, Citing Safety Concerns After Meerut Murder Case

Man Helps Wife Marry Her Lover to Avoid Conflict

In a surprising turn of events, a man from Uttar Pradesh’s Sant Kabir Nagar arranged his wife’s marriage to her lover, fearing for his own safety. His decision was influenced by a recent murder case in Meerut, where a woman and her lover allegedly killed her husband.

Bablu, a resident of Katar Mishra village in the Dhanghta police station area, facilitated his wife Radhika’s marriage to Vishal Kumar on Monday.

Background: Marriage and Affair

Bablu, who works as a laborer in another state, married Radhika in 2017. The couple, originally from Gorakhpur district, has two children. However, for the past 18 months, Radhika had been in a relationship with Vishal, a man from the same village.

When Bablu discovered the affair, he repeatedly urged Radhika to end it, but she refused. Concerned about potential violence, he chose an unconventional approach—arranging their marriage instead of engaging in conflict.

Legal Agreement and Wedding Ceremony

On Monday, Bablu took Radhika and Vishal to Dhanghta tehsil, where an official agreement was prepared. The couple then got married at a local temple in the presence of villagers, ensuring community acceptance.

Speaking about his decision, Bablu stated, “I didn’t want any harm to come my way. We have seen cases where husbands were killed by their wives and lovers. To avoid such a fate, I chose to arrange their marriage.”

Influence of Meerut Murder Case

Bablu’s concerns stemmed from a recent crime in Meerut, where a woman named Muskan, along with her lover Sahil, allegedly killed her husband Saurabh and hid his body in a drum. The case has been widely discussed, raising alarms about similar incidents.

“After seeing what happened in Meerut, I decided to get my wife married to her lover so that we both can live peacefully,” Bablu explained.

Custody of Children and Legal Standpoint

Despite facilitating the marriage, Bablu has chosen to retain custody of his two children. When questioned about the legality of the wedding—since he and Radhika were not formally divorced—Bablu asserted that the marriage was valid as it was conducted with the consent of all parties and in the presence of villagers.

This incident has sparked discussions about relationships, social norms, and unconventional solutions to marital conflicts in India.
